The Artists Upload for the categories of the award as well as the registration for the Academy are currently closed and will reopen next year. However, the possibility to enter oneself in the directory of jazz-related music projects in Austria since January 2022 remains under ARTISTS UPLOAD.
Mission
Jazz is understood as a transcultural form of music with a high degree of improvisation.

Austria has a highly vibrant jazz and world music scene. To give more public attention to creative musicians, the Austrian Music Council (ÖMR), together with mica-music austria, the Ö1 Jazz editorial team, the IG World Music, and Porgy & Bess were able to achieve a reestablishment of an Austrian Jazz Award.
