Yvonne Moriel is a young saxophonist from Tyrol who is now also being noticed by the European jazz scene. She has a wide stylistic range, sophisticated craftsmanship and great emotional expression. Her current project “sweetlife”, for example, combines jazz with dub music and electronics, free improvisation with complex rhythmic patterns and hip-hop beats.

2nd place: Nina Feldgrill (bass) 3rd place: Lorenz Widauer (trumpet)

1st place and Austrian Jazz Price 2024 as Best Album: Echoboomer: “Timeless Warrior”

Timeless Warrior is an album released in 2023 by the septet “Echoboomer”, which is led and composed by bassist Beate Wiesinger. It impresses with its originality and innovative independence and, through its cross-border song structures, takes the refreshing risk of convincingly exploding the jazz idiom - in which all participating musicians are deeply rooted.
