Below you will find the detailed schedule for the Austrian Jazz Awards 2025 as well as all the innovations around the award ceremony.

■ April 24–26 – Jazzahead in Bremen

■ May 19 – Dates in Carinthia: State Government, ORF, GMPU, Casino Velden am Wörthersee

■ May 21 – Press conference in Vienna (Porgy & Bess): Presentation of the 2025 Austrian Jazz Prize Start of the submission process for musicians – Observation period for releases: August 26, 2024 – August 25, 2025 (live act, album, newcomer) Start of registration for the "Academy"

■ August 25 – End of submission period

■ September 1–15 – Academy voting

■ September 22 – Presentation of the nominees (social media + Ö1)

■ Beginning of October – Jury voting

■ October 27 – Announcement of the winners (PK)

■ November 26 – Jam Music Lab: Jazz Brunch (in collaboration with GMPU Klagenfurt)

■ November 26 – Gala Concert at Casino Velden (live broadcast on Ö1)

New features

In addition to the categories "Live Act", "Album" and "Newcomer", there will also be the category "Lifetime Achievement" in 2025 (jury decision).

All submitting artists and projects are automatically voting members of the "Academy" – provided they agree.

5 projects / albums / newcomers will be nominated per category. The nomination of one's own project or one's own person is permitted. The winners of the previous year are invited to be part of the jury or the "Academy", but can only be nominated again the following year.

The "Austrian Jazz Library" (releases from January 1, 2022) will remain open to all projects and artists, even if they do not participate in the nomination process. All winners will present themselves at the Austrian Jazz Prize Gala on 26.11.2025 at Casino Velden, which will be broadcast live on Ö1 and ORF On.

10,000 EUR prize money & Jazz Prize Ball for the winners of the categories Live Act and Album of the Year 2025 + 1 follow-up concert

5,000 EUR prize money & Jazz Prize Ball + 1 follow-up concert for category Newcomer of the Year 2025

1,000 EUR prize money & Jazz Prize Ball for the second and third place winners in each category

The category "Lifetime achievement to date" will also be endowed with a cash prize.
