Zweimaurer

4 musicians, 2 Maurer, one band. Father and daughter, who lead the band and compose together. Of course it is jazz, but of course the term “jazz” cannot describe the quartet’s deeply unique style. Each of the four artists brings a completely independent and idiosyncratic musical profile and when they come together they create a musical explosion between contemporary acoustic jazz, blues, Latin and rock. The cooking is hot - and seasoned with odd meters, earthy grooves, complex harmonies, sometimes catchy melodies, energetic improvisations, a touch of melancholy and a lot of musical wit.
