A world music sound, nourished by a great diversity of styles, builds bridges between different traditions and embraces modernity with an elegant vibe. The quartet, led by Swiss double bassist, composer, and bandleader Roman Britschgi (also known from Hatz & Klok), who resides in Vienna, finds precisely the tone on their album that truly enchants. The melodies flow atmospherically between passion and melancholy, sometimes gently and touchingly, then lively and playful, and occasionally dramatically and mysteriously. The quartet also masterfully excels in the art of improvisation.
