Dornbirn-based bassist and composer Vincent Rein presents „Variants“, an album that reflects his musical journey while embracing new directions. Across seven tracks, the Vincent Rein Quintet combines modern jazz with openness, spontaneity, and lyrical interplay. The music balances carefully crafted compositions with improvisational freedom, from the tribute „Farwell“, dedicated to Rein’s late teacher Paulo Cardoso, to new pieces like „Unexpected“ and the title track.
