Singer and songwriter Karin Maria Bauer (Kareen) deliberately places no boundaries on her music and compositions. The feeling connected to the song as an artistic expression is at the center of her work: her compositions start with the feeling itself, determining the genre in which a new song emerges – not the other way around.
Musically and artistically versatile, Karin Maria Bauer combines an individual jazz language influenced by a variety of styles with catchy melodies and profound lyrics. Also trained as an actress, she loves to explore the nuances of the English and German languages as well as Austrian dialect – “mit g’schlossanen Aug’n” (with closed eyes, the title of one of her songs) – with a great deal of artistic pleasure.
