Involved in a wide variety of projects, the Vienna-based Swiss double bassist is characterised double bassist is characterised above all by his wide musical range. Whether as a free improviser, interpreter of written music, accompanist and soloist in a classical jazz context, or from solo formation to big band, he knows how to enrich any music with his multi-faceted, expressive and open-minded playing. Alongside the release of his double bass solo album "Lowdown", Waelti can also be heard on the second album of his band "TREE" with pianist Georg Vogel and drummer Michael Prowaznik, which confidently bridges the gap between tradition and modernity.
