Walter Baco plays music in the best sense of the word, and he also plays with genres. His art work does not fit into any pigeonholes. He switches effortlessly from atonal sounds to folk simplicity, only to conjure up a spherical meditation a few bars later. In his sound journeys he touches on chorales, baroque gestures, archaic expressive rhythms, romantic melodies or rocky-bluesy passages and always remains true to himself and his unmistakable style.
