Michiel Braam (pianist, composer, head of ArtEZ Conservatory) about ELSA: Elsa Steixner is an adventurous and idiosyncratic storyteller who knows how to filter the knowledge and skills she has been offered very well. She has no interest in showing off generic skills but instead focuses on her authentic storytelling, engaging her fellow creators and audience in the process. With her mature language Elsa easily takes you by the hand live on stage with a multitude of emotions, from sorrow to exuberant joy, spanning a spectrum from introspection to wandering curiosity.
Born in Vienna, Elsa Steixner studied at the ArtEZ Academy of the Arts in Holland from 2019 to 2023, where she founded the band ELSA in 2021 together with Julian Bazzanella (p), Daniel Louis (d) and Viennese bassist Jakob Lang.
