Projekt Beschreibung
Intended as a project in-between genres, a same-titled EP has served as a starting point for saxophonist Yvonne Moriel’s band sweetlife, which brings together 4 of Austria’s most promising up-and-coming young jazz artists. The music is constantly evolving and enhancing ever since. It’s still influenced by it’s starting point but has turned into a very different sound. Jazz is mixed with dub-effects and electronics, free improvisation meets complex rhythmical pattens and hiphop-influenced beats. Freshly formed, the project was in December 2022 presented to an international professional audience at Austrian Music Export’s Kickjazzfestival and shortly after had it’s debut at renowned Jazzfestival Saalfelden. 2024 it was selected as New Austrian Sound of Music - Act for 2025/26.
