Projekt Beschreibung

Since 2019, the Wiener Choro Ensemble has been a pioneering project whose main goal is to promote and teach the first urban music of Brazil, Choro, in Austria. The group was born from a musical movement of Brazilian musicians living in Austria, and its repertoire explores the richness of Choro with arrangements that blend jazz, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, and classical music. The rhythmic roots of Brazilian music and its refined harmonies are always present. The quartet consists of Antônio de Pádua (cavaquinho, guitar, and trumpet), Marco Antônio da Costa (guitar and cavaquinho), João Vítor (flute), and Roberta Karin (percussion).
