Album: Plehak

While previous albums had a strong focus on post-production and the musicians often recorded spatially separated from each other, the production of Plehak placed full trust in the shared moment. All musicians played together in one room without headphones, and the entire ensemble was captured with only one pair of stereo microphones placed in the center of the room. Most pieces are hardly or not edited at all and were recorded in one take. One could say this is a cheap way of producing music, ignoring the potential of current technical standards. That's true. However, the motivation for this approach was reduction and the hope that despite the skills of all the musicians involved to function in various recording situations, there would still be a little more liveliness and musicality.
