Album: Until We Meet Again

Avin Ahmadi on oud and Lorenz Widauer on trumpet. Their paths had never crossed until Hideout Records brought them together for the first Carte Blanche. Until We Meet Again is rooted in jazz and Persian influences, carrying the intimacy of chamber music while daring to grow from fragments, sounds, and open forms. Avin Ahmadi and Lorenz Widauer allow their music to unfold with openness and courage, creating stories that open up new spaces. They are joined by Valentin Duit (drums), Kristian Lind (double bass), Albin Ormegard (guitar), and Mona Matbou Riahi (clarinet). The British jazz magazine Vortex Jazz describes the duo album as “intense and thoughtful,” celebrating its unique blend of chamber jazz, classical influences, and Iranian musical traditions.
