Album: Idea of Iration

In Rastafarianism, the word ‘iration’ represents the source of bliss and joy from which our earth was created. The album describes the individual process of overcoming a personal crisis in life – the return to that peaceful inner-place where the light from the fire of life is still illuminating this special space within the heart. Musical inspirations for this included: Ernest Rangling, The Skatalites, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Shpongle, Eddie van Halen, Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley & The Wailers. Thus, in this album, african influences like dub, reggae and downtempo riddims – form the basis for solo improvisation within the arrangements, through which we sought to build a bridge between jazz/improvisation and a feel-good sound.
