Album: Nerds & Sweeties

Jakob Helling, composer and trumpet player from Vienna, and his “Nerds & Sweeties” meet Fay Claassen – one of the great voices of European jazz. The music is as raw and gripping as it is elegant and subtle. Sometimes big and brimming, other times intimate and almost fragile. The arrangements are finely drawn, and at other moments the soloists take the space they need to express their universe. With its debut album “Live in 2019”, the Jakob Helling Concert Big Band 2020 became an insider tip for lovers of large orchestral jazz music. Now the ensemble is presenting their first studio album with Fay Claassen, the studio album “Nerds & Sweeties”, which is released on the Viennese label Quinton Records.
