Schneider’s playing tips its hat to the early jazz trailblazers – especially the electric guitar pioneers – yet it hits you as something raw, fresh and right now. There’s no retro museum vibe here, just living, breathing music. This album is no “guitar hero” showcase, but a collective work shaped by the interplay of fi ve musicians. Norbert’s guitar and compositions fi nd their counterpart in the fine contributions of the group members. The combo creates a vibrant soundscape sometimes fiery, sometimes cool – always alive. This is the first release on Norbert’s newly founded, independent label, Weimarer Salon Records.
