Newcomer: Valentin Goidinger

Jazz enjoys a symbiosis with experimental rock music. These elements determine Valentin Goidinger's music. Growing up musically with the cello, he discovered the electric guitar as a teenager and completed his bachelor's degree with honors at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz in 2022. He founded his jazz rock trio “X!XU” in 2021, which released their debut album in 2023. In the same year he founded the Goidinger/Matheis Collective with Alexander Matheis, which released its first album in the summer of 2024. In 2024, Valentin Goidinger was one of the finalists for the Ö1 Jazz Scholarship. In addition to concerts at home and abroad, he composes for various jazz or new music formations, such as the Janus Ensemble.
