After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full tuition scholarship, majoring in Jazz Composition with a focus on the Vibraphone as his main instrument and graduating summa cum laude, Tobias Meissl returned to Vienna where he has been living and working since then. Next to his Masters studies in Jazz Composition and -Arrangement at MuK Vienna, Meissl founded the ensembles Tobias Meissl Quartettt, TM Trio and rioT, TeMTeT and Tobias Meissl Organization and developed an extensive repertoire of compositions for them. Since the fall of 2021, the Tobias Meissl Trio (with Ivar Roban Križić and Valentin Duit; Album ‘Mr. Resolved’ – out October 2024) as well as Tobias Meissl Solo (Vibes and Piano) are at the center of Meissl's artistic work both as composer and performer.
