Newcomer: Alexander Matheis

Alexander Matheis was part of the Upper Austrian Youth Jazz Orchestra from 2016-2023 and recorded the album "Spicey" with this ensemble. His piano trio Eledone is another young formation of the bassist, with whom he has already released the albums "Off Many Moods" and "A Place To Return To" in 2022 and 2023. With this trio he won the Joe Zawinul Award in 2021. He is also part of the experimental jazz rock trio "X!XU" and has already released an album entitled "Xi Xu" with this formation in addition to performances at Porgy and Bess and Altes Kino Landeck. Another project of the Linz musician is the "Goidinger/Matheis - Collective" with which he released the album "Tales Of The Unknown" in 2024.
