Newcomer: Tilen Gavranovič

Tilen Gavranovič is a Slovenian jazz guitarist, composer, and bandleader. He studied jazz guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and furthered his studies in Paris with guitarist Romain Pilon. He leads and co-leads the bands Funk Fu and Jakomini Jazz Trio, with whom he has released an album. He also leads the Gavro Quartet, blending traditional and modern jazz with elements of various musical genres. In 2024, Gavro Quartet released its debut album, Let’s Wait and See, featuring Jim Rotondi and Marko Črnčec. In the summer of 2026, Gavro Quartet returned to the studio to record their second album, Tous les Jours, featuring renowned saxophonist Seamus Blake on tenor saxophone and Alex Sipiagin on trumpet.
