Newcomer: Lukas Gabric

Dr. Lukas Gabric is an Austrian saxophonist, composer, musicologist, and educator whose career spans performance, recording, scholarship, and music education. A graduate of The Juilliard School and holder of a Ph.D. in Musicology from the City University of New York, he has performed and taught internationally throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. Gabric is the author of several jazz pedagogy books and has received numerous awards, including the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, China.
