Newcomer Resume

Jordi Roviró (*2001) is a German-Catalan jazz trumpeter, composer and bandleader. He moved to Vienna in 2020 to study at the MUK with Gerhard Ornig. Here he founded the Vienna Composers Big Band (VCBB) in 2021 and debuted with his septet in 2024. Roviró composes and arranges for both ensembles. He has also established himself as a sought-after sideman in the Austrian jazz scene. He has played in Austria with Joris Dudli, Danny Ziemann, Howard Curtis and Andy Middleton, among others. He has performed internationally at various festivals (Slovenia, Belgium, Hungary, Croatia, Italy). He presented his big band composition "Rambla" at the '24 Symposium of the International Society of Jazz Arrangers & Composers in Nashville, USA.
