Newcomer: Martin Melzer

Martin Melzer is an electric bassist, educator and cultural pioneer. After completing his studies in the first lockdown in 2020 at the VMI Vienna and the HDPK Berlin, he has been working full-time as a musician and educator since March 2023. In addition to his main project PRIM, he is involved in the lively musical and cultural activities in his hometown of Vienna as well as internationally. Other active projects include Jörg Danielsen's Vienna Blues Association, the organization of the ATLAS Sessions Vienna (collective cross-genre and cross-cultural free improvisation), collaboration with the swing and blues dance scene (IG-Hop, Thomas Marek, Blues in Vienna), and the annual Austrian Jazz Discovery playlists on Spotify.
