With his new trio, Edi Köhldorfer catapults the energy, spirit and optimism of jazz in the 20th century into the 20s of the second millennium and at the same time opens the doors to influences from various global musical cultures. Through Köhldorfer’s intensive engagement with classical music, the “European heritage” remains always present and at the same time is counteracted with improvisation and ensemble interaction. As always, his world influences are also noticeable.
