Album: Way to Blue

The bassist & composer Gina Schwarz had the privilege of being invited to the Multiphonics Festival Cologne as composer in residence and producing an album. A woodwind section with almost the entire clarinet family, various flutes and a rhythm section present a powerful sound body. Tension is continually built and the soloists are used to their best advantage. Melancholic parts, strong melodies, lots of rhythm and some “far out” passages form the music, which has depth and is full of liveliness. Additional bass improvisations in various duos connect the pieces.
