Album: Austrian Syndicate

Austrian Syndicate unites 5 AT-musicians who present both their own compositions and two covers by Austria's most significant composers, Zawinul and Mozart. The production – sound, studio, video & photos – was entirely realized in Austria. The album was released by ACT Music. Peter Madsen, one of the most renowned jazz pianists (played with Stan Getz, Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Dewey Redman, Maceo Parker...), has lived in Austria for 25 years and David Helbock became his most successful student. Here they meet with one of the best Austrian rhythm sections: Herbert Pirker, Raphael Preuschl & Claudio Spieler. Guest appearances come from well-known jazz musicians with whom Madsen & Helbock have personal connections: Fred Wesley, Lakecia Benjamin, Maria João, Alex Acuña, and Dhafer Youssef.
